The creators of “Stranger Things” are under fire for allegedly making actors film an unscripted kiss.

In the second season finale, Lucas, played by 16-year-old Caleb McLaughlin, and new girl Max, played by actress Sadie Sink, 15, share a kiss on the dance floor.

On the after show “Beyond Stranger Things”, Sink and the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, revealed the moment was unscripted, and Ross Duffer forced her to perform the kiss after she had been “freaked out” about the idea.

“The kiss was not written in the script. I get there, the first day of Snowball… one of you, I think it was you Ross,” Sink said. “You say, ‘Ooh, Sadie, you ready for the kiss?’ I’m like, ‘What! No! That’s not in the script. That’s not happening.”

“So the whole day I was like stressed out, I was like ‘Oh my God, wait, am I gonna have to…’ and it didn’t happen that day, but then the second day of filming the Snow Ball,” she added.

Ross Duffer explained: “You reacted so strongly to this. I was just joking, and you were so freaked out that I was like well, I got to make her do it now. That’s why I’m saying it’s your fault.”

On Twitter, the creators of the show were criticized for forcing Sink into performing the kiss.

The controversy surrounding the scene also comes amid criticism of the way the young stars of the show have been made up to look like adults and in some cases sexualized by other adults.
