Avril Lavigne puts the final nail in the coffin regarding a rumour she died years ago.

The Canadian-born “Sk8ter Boi” singer hosted her first Facebook live chat last week to answer fan questions in support of her charity partnership with LymeLight Foundation.

The LymeLight Foundation‘s “mission is to provide grants to enable eligible children and young adults with Lyme disease to receive proper treatment and medication.”

Lavigne, 33, was asked about a popular – and debunked – rumour claiming the real Lavigne committed suicide years ago and was replaced by an imposter named Melissa.

“Not dead. I’m here,” Lavigne told viewers. She found it “silly” anyone would believe the conspiracy theory.

The beloved singer-songwriter also gave an update on the status of her upcoming sixth studio album. Lavigne said she was working diligently on the project and expects to wrap up the creative process by the end of November.

Lavigne revealed she has recorded more than 20 songs, including an “empowering, emotional, and sincere” track, plus “cool rock songs.”
