“Star Trek” veteran actress, Nichelle Nichols, is resting comfortably after being rushed to the hospital for a mild stroke on Wednesday evening.
Nichols’ representative has confirmed to Entertainment Tonight in a statement that the 82-year-old is under close observation by medical staff to determine the severity of the stroke: “We do not have a prognosis yet but everyone’s prayers and well wishes are appreciated.”;
TMZ reports that Nichols was driven from her home by ambulance last night to a Los Angeles hospital. Nichols is known for her long-standing experience as an actress on both the “Star Trek”; television show and six movies. She played communications officer Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, aboard the fictional USS Enterprise.
