Taylor Swift will be unveiling her long-awaited LP “Reputation” on Friday, and gifted fans with a sneak peek with a live performance that aired during Thursday night’s episode of “Scandal”.
For the first time ever, Swift performed a new song from the upcoming album — “New Year’s Day” — for fans in an intimate showcase, accompanying herself on piano as flickering candles providing an ambient glow.
“Don’t read the last page,” Swift sings in the performance (which can be seen above). “But I stay when it’s hard, or it’s wrong. But I’ll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year’s Day.”

“New Year’s Day” is the fifth single to be released from the upcoming album, which is scheduled to drop at midnight on Friday.
In addition to this performance, TV viewers will be seeing more of Swift over the weekend when she appears as musical guest on “Saturday Night Live”, joining host Tiffany Haddish (“Girls Trip”) on the episode that airs on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET on Global.
While Swift has taken the new album off almost all streaming sites, fans of the singer can listen to all 15 tracks on iHeartRadio.
The station partnered with Swift, making iHeartRadio the only place to listen to Reputation for free.
