Sam Smith Shocks Delighted Brides With Surprise Performance At Their Wedding

By Brent Furdyk.

If Hollywood ever decides to do a remake of Adam Sandler’s “The Wedding Singer”, Sam Smith should be at the top of the list to star.

The “Stay With Me” singer proved it during a moment chronicled in his upcoming BBC special, in which he surprises two brides by performing at their wedding ceremony.

In the video from “Sam Smith at the BBC”, Smith is seen meeting with the minister who’ll be performing the nuptials for the two women marrying each other — who have no idea that Smith is waiting in the wings in order to pay tribute to their union in song.

Despite having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages — including singing his 007 theme song “Writing’s on the Wall” at the 2016 Oscars — Smith appears to be adorably nervous as he watches the ceremony from a side door before surprising the brides.

“Just being a part of someone’s day like that means the world to me,” he says. “They are so in love; it’s just incredible.”
