Nickelback has taken no shortage of hits over the years, but at least one of the band’s peers is coming out as a big fan of the Vancouver-based rockers: William Patrick Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins.
In an interview with “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast (as reported by NME), Corgan didn’t hold back his praise for Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.

“He’s an incredible songwriter,” said Corgan. “I don’t know enough about their world, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong if that’s who you want to be.”
As Corgan sees it, pop music is akin to pornography. “Pop is predicated on satisfying,” he added. “I’ve said many times pop is porn. It’s porn, they want to get you off. It’s just how they’re going to get you off. I’m not that concerned with getting you off. I’m just not.”
