Anyone hoping for an unlikely collaboration between rootsy rocker Ryan Adams and deadmau5 should stop hoping after Adams blasted the Canadian electronic music performer in a profanity-laced rant during a concert in NYC last night.
Performing at the Governors Ball Music Festival, the booming bass of deadmau5’s set could be clearly heard by Adams’ audience (he was performing on a different stage at the same time), and the rocker took the opportunity to slam deadmau5.
“Try to make this song on your f***ing iPhone,”; Adams quipped to the crowd. “This song is not going to match the robot music over there… It’s like we’re living in a f***ing Terminator nightmare!”;
He then launched into this decidedly anti-techno performance of “Oh My Sweet Carolina”;:
