Mariah Carey has done countless interviews in her time, but her latest could easily be one of the best yet. When quizzed about her smash hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, answering a bunch of festive questions, the result gives you the feels.
Buzzfeed sat down with the musician, and an array of furry friends, to ask the star all about the holidays.
On her favourite Christmas tradition, Carey gushed: “Everything about the holidays is just so much fun that I don’t even know how to explain it, while I watch these puppies fight with each other. They’re so adorable! I can’t believe they’re here.”
Despite Carey being known for her diva reputation, she insisted that “she would be happy with any gift” for Christmas, adding: “It’s the thought that counts.”
The “Hero” hitmaker’s much-loved Christmas track has already managed to crack the Top 100 songs on iTunes despite there being over a month to go until Dec. 25.
When asked about whether or not she expected the song to be such a huge success, Carey said: “I wasn’t thinking about that, I was just recording a Christmas song. That’s a boring answer, but it’s the truth!”
She recently told Billboard of the track, which was released in 1994: “I felt like it was a little bit too early in my career to be doing a Christmas album. And then — I decided to do it.”
“The crazy thing about it is, every year it tends to increase in popularity,” Carey added.
The megastar’s latest appearance comes after it was reported she had undergone gastric sleeve surgery.
The Grammy winner underwent the weight loss surgery about a month and a half ago, sources told Entertainment Tonight.
Carey is said to have had the operation, which shrinks the size of the stomach so patients eat less, after feeling “extremely insecure about her weight.”
“She always fluctuates and it makes her upset,” one insider said. “She lives in denial about it; she has the tags cut out of clothes, so she can be blissfully unaware of her size.”
Carey’s rep refused to comment on the surgery reports.
