Watch: Serena Ryder Melts The ‘Ice Age’ Away With Heartwarming Music Video

Serena Ryder heats things up with the uplifting new visuals for her song “Ice Age”.

ET Canada exclusively premieres the Canadian singer’s new music video off her sixth studio album “Utopia”.

The heartwarming shoot took place in a retirement home. Ryder, playing the role of a janitor, uses the power of music to uplift the spirits of the elderly residents and melt away the home’s mundane atmosphere.

Ryder describes “Ice Age” as a story of “how freeing it is to really come out the other side of a broken heart and a broken mind with the realization that the only thing that is broken are the words themselves that we choose to define ourselves and our situation by.”

“The whole inspiration behind the ‘Ice Age’ music video is the documentary Alive Inside,” she explains. “The video encapsulates the healing power of music and how it can bring dementia and Alzheimer’s patients back to life like no medication has ever been able to.”

Adding, “It’s mind blowing how powerful a medicine music can be. It’s a healer that breaks all cultural, age, class and gender chains.”
