Halsey shocked fans attending her Tuesday night show at Calgary’s Saddledome by exiting the show mid-concert due to what was later revealed to be a family emergency.
As the Calgary Herald reports, the 23-year-old “Bad at Love” singer cut short the Calgary show on her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour about 12 songs through her set.
“She’s obviously really sorry,” an unidentified man told the crowd after Halsey — whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane — abruptly exited the stage. “The show is not happening anymore and refunds will be made at the point of purchase.”
On Wednesday morning, Live Nation released a statement announcing that the show scheduled for that night in Edmonton had been cancelled.
“Due to a personal emergency, Halsey will be unable to perform tonight at Rogers Place in Edmonton,” reads the statement. “Tickets purchased online and by telephone will be refunded automatically. Ticket holders that bought in-person are eligible for a refund at their point-of-purchase.”
While no other information is known at this time, Halsey fans have been taking to social media to share their concern and send her their love, urging other fans to do the same and respect her privacy.
