Martha Stewart is looking back at her brief stint in prison back in 2004 (for charges related to insider trading) as a benefit to her friendship with Snoop Dogg.
The food and lifestyle maven told “CBS Sunday Morning” that jail time was a common ground between her and Snoop, who did time for dealing drugs. “That helped,” Stewart said. “Because people knew how crazy and unfair the – all of that was.”

Adding, it helped her earn friendship points with the rapper, “And in Snoop’s world, it gave me that street cred I was lacking.”
The unlikely duo visited with the morning show Thursday to talk about their cooking show, “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” where Stewart praised Snoop’s Cornish game hen recipe.

Stewart even admitted the pair’s differences are what make the show work, “I don’t think it’s Snoop necessarily,” she said. “But I think it’s the subject matter. I mean, when you cavort with Jamie Foxx and… Usher, and Puff Daddy, and P. Diddy and whatever, you’re a different person.”
