With only days left until U2 release their new album, Songs of Experience, the Irish band is sharing the second track from their highly anticipated release, featuring yet another collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.
“American Soul”, which dropped Friday, is a re-tooled version of Lamar’s “XXX.” track off his latest album “DAMN.”. Have a listen to the alternative track below.
“It’s not a place, this country is to me a sound of drum and bass, you close your eyes to look around,” Bono sings, re-tooling the lyrics from “XXX.” for The Edge’s guitar-heavy song.

Earlier this month U2 released their new album’s first single, “Get Out Of Your Own Way”, which also featured the Compton-born rapper.

U2’s Songs of Experience is out Dec. 1, and features the talents of Ryan Tedder, Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow and Jolyon Thomas.
