Twitter wants to know why the ’90s and early 2000s are suddenly considered “classic.”
Multi-time chart-topping rock band The Goo Goo Dolls performed at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

All was well and good at the annual event, until the parade announcer referred to the “Iris” recording artists as a “classic rock” band.
The Goo Goo Dolls released their first studio album in 1987, but dropped their first official single “We Are The Normal” in 1993 to promote “Superstar Car Wash”.

Users on social media were somewhat offended by the notion music from the ‘90s was “classic rock.”
