The 60th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2018, and the full list of nominations have now been announced.
The first four noms — Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Album Of The Year — were announced on Tuesday’s “CBS This Morning”.
The awards have embraced rap and hip-hop this year, as the nominations include several major nods each for Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Childish Gambino.
Combined, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar received 15 nominations, while Childish Gambino bagged five nods.
A year after Beyonce ruled the 2017 Grammy Awards, her husband is now following suit, with Jay-Z bagging a whopping eight nods including an Album Of The Year nomination for 4:44.
Canadians including Justin Bieber, Michael Buble, Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen and Alessia Cara are up for awards, with Cara bagging a nod in the Song Of The Year category, while Bieber was mentioned for vocal contributions to “Despacito”.
Cara took to Twitter after the nominations were announced to say how “honoured” she was.

There is an absence of white males among the top artist nominees; no females are up for the prestigious Record Of The Year gong at all.
Ed Sheeran, who managed to pick up two nominations, was among those tipped to dominate but were snubbed from the top three prizes altogether.
This year’s nominees represent “a great statement about diversity: not only in terms of the artists, but the membership that makes those choices,” says Recording Academy president Neil Portnow.
“It also shows that hip hop and urban music is so prevalent. It pervades society to an extent where it really is reflective of the times, and that’s how we would wish to be presenting our nominations in any given year. In some respects, it may be historic and that’s something we’re very proud of.”
