Luke Skywalker took some extreme measures to evade Imperial forces in a galaxy far, far away, but that was nothing compared to the lengths to which Mark Hamill will go to avoid being harangued by autograph dealers who stalk him in so he’ll autograph “Star Wars” merch they can sell to fans at a ridiculous profit.

We found this out after a fan snapped a photo of Hamill at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, where he rode in a wheelchair, nestling his dog in his lap while a wide-brimmed black hat shielded his face.

“What happened Mark? Are you OK?” asked Twitter user Brent Aldrich, who took the photo.

Hamill responded to the worried fan, revealing he was simply using his four-wheeled trick to keep airport autograph seekers away.

“HA! Arriving 5AM I tried the old ‘wheelchair trick’ JUST 2 avoid autograph $alesmen/Dealer$ who constantly badger me (& my family) 2 increase value of their items-All the better 2 gouge TRUE FANS later on Ebay,” wrote Hamill, adding the hashtags #TheyCanGoForceThemselves and #NoMoreAirportSignings.

As it turned out, the adorable little dog on Hamill’s lap was celebrating a birthday, with Hamill issuing a subsequent tweet sharing some photos from the canine celebration.
