Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet’s first rehearsal on the set of “Call Me By Your Name” was a surprisingly passionate one.
The two actors were guests on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, and the host let them know she thinks their new film might be the best movie she’s seen this year.

DeGeneres had to ask about one particular moment from the production — the first rehearsal — which Hammer called “hilarious.”
Chalamet explained: They were in the villa where they shot the scene when director Luca Guadagnino suggested they go to the backyard for a rehearsal.
Guadagnino then picked a scene at random for the pair to rehearse, and it turned out to be a passionate scene of their two characters making out. “And we kind of look at each other,” Hammer said, “and we’re like, Alright, that’s why we’re here.”
Hammer and Chalamet started kissing, but the director stopped them, saying that they needed to be even more passionate. “So then we start making out,” Hammer continued. “And we’re making out, and we’re making out, and then we’re making out, and no one’s saying stop, and all of a sudden we both kind of stop and Luca had just walked away.”
“It was a bit of an ice-breaker,” Hammer said.
“It destroyed the ice,” Chalamet added.

DeGeneres also brought up the fact that Chalamet had “a bit of a problem with razor burn” due to Hammer’s facial hair.
“That’s a real thing people deal with,” the 21-year-old said. “I’m sure many people here have had that.”
“I don’t anymore, but I did,” DeGeneres joked.
