Meghan Markle’s very first royal engagement alongside Prince Harry saw her wear one of her go-to Canadian labels.
With Prince Harry by her side, the newly engaged star visited the Terrace Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair in Nottingham, where she sported a tailored, double-breasted coat by Mackage and and chic Strathberry bag, for a look that channelled the likes of Kate Middleton’s signature style.
The Canadian statement piece is Mackage’s Elodie coat, which currently retails for $790 on the label’s website.
The Canadian brand’s communications director Hugo Thibault shed some light on their ongoing relationship with the soon-to-be royal.
“We have worked with Meghan for a few years now. She is a longtime fan of our brand and was seen attending our Toronto fashion shows a few years ago. We are now working with her stylist, Jessica Mulroney, and she purchased a few of our pieces for her,” he shared about the coat, which Markle purchased only days before today’s event. “She has been great to our brand. Every time she wears Mackage, we see our site traffic and social media traffic grow tremendously. Our brand is getting more recognized internationally, too. And, of course, the styles she wears immediately sell out!”
Eager fans of the Elodie coat will sadly have to wait until it is restocked online. Only four of the jackets were available online prior to Markle’s Royal appearance on Friday, and all have since sold out.
With a khaki Joseph skirt peeking through her heavy wool coat, Markle paired the ensemble with black suede boots, minimal makeup and effortlessly sleek waves.
This certainly isn’t the first time Markle has been spotted in Mackage. Earlier this fall, the former “Suits” actress wore a burgundy biker jacket while supporting Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto.
Together the couple radiated happiness as they greeted excited onlookers in matching looks, while a gloveless Markle showed off her new engagement ring as she swept pieces of hair away from her glowing face.
