Julia Stiles is returning fire to Instagram users critical of her parenting skills.
The “10 Things I Hate About You” star posted an adorable photo with her newborn baby boy, Strummer Newcomb, in a baby carrier on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Stiles’ was criticized for improperly carrying her 5-month-old infant.

In a new Instagram post published on Dec. 1, Stiles defended herself and trashed haters. “It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly,” she captioned the photo. “Wow, I didn’t expect that.”
“What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother,” she continued. “That’s the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.”

Stiles even threw a verbal jab at her critics. “Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5-week-old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It’s way more fun.”
The actress and her husband, Preston J. Cook, welcomed their baby on Oct. 20 in New York City.
