Tyrese Gibson may have issued an apology for the outrageous comments he’s made on social media, blaming a doctor-prescribed medication for his rants, yet no matter how insulting he became to “Fast and Furious” co-star Dwayne Johnson, The Rock never took the bait.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the star of the upcoming “Jumanji” reboot explains why he refused to let himself get dragged into a feud, despite Gibson calling him a “candy-ass b*tch,” accusing him of making the franchise all “about you” and blasting him for considering a spinoff focusing on his character because “we don’t fly solo.”

“At the end of the day, the only thing I want to do is make a great movie for the fans,” declared Johnson. “I never ever get wrapped up in the sludge of the bulls**t that can be connected at times to a franchise. So I never get dragged into it. I never respond to any of that.”

Johnson also explains that the idea for Hobbes to feature in his own spinoff was something that he always had in mind from the get-go.

“It’s been a challenging process because I feel like my intention from day one, when I first joined the cast, was to hopefully come in, have fun, and create a character that people will hopefully like and try to elevate the franchise,” Johnson added. “But in the process of elevating the franchise, I have always thought that in order for this to have real longevity and legs, we should spin out and create characters that can live on their own.”
