Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film follows the late Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), stepping into the boxing ring, a profession that killed his father in “Rocky IV”;.
Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) plays trainer to Johnson who gets reminded how it all ended for his father.
“Your Daddy died in the ring,” a trainer says to Johnson.
“That got nothin’ to do with me,” he replies.
