Don’t look for Joe Manganiello and fiancée Sofia Vergara to co-star together in a movie.
That’s because the Modern Family bombshell fears a cinematic coupling could result in “the next Gigli.”;
Gigli, for those fortunate enough to have blotted it from their memories, was a 2003 “comedy”; starring then-sweethearts Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, notable for being one of the worst movies ever made, a box-office bomb that spelled the end of the celeb couple dubbed “Bennifer.”;
The Magic Mike XXL star admits that he actually showed Vergara a script in which he’d hoped they could co-star, but she immediately shot down the idea.
“Her fear is that we’d make the next Gigli,” he says in a new interview with with Haute Living. “I gave her [a] script and was like, “Please read this. It’s such a good part for you and it’s amazing for me,’ and she said, “No, I’m not going to make Gigli,’ and kind of threw it on the ground.”;
He says he soon came around to his fiancée’s point of view. “We get along so well together,”; he says. “I’m so lucky to have found that right person for me, and I know she feels the same way. We’re really good with each other. Why risk f**king that up?”;
