Host and producer of CNN’s “Morgan Spurlock Inside Man” is coming forward about his inappropriate behaviour towards women.
Morgan Spurlock confessed to sexual misconduct in a bombshell extended tweet on Wednesday titled, “I am the problem”. “Over my life, there have been many instances that parallel what we see everyday in the news,” he wrote.
The “Super Size Me” filmmaker detailed an uncomfortable “one night stand” he had in college. “She started to cry. I didn’t know what to do,” said Spurlock. “We stopped having sex and I rolled beside her. I tried to comfort her. To make her feel better. I thought I was doing ok, I believed she was feeling better. She believed she was raped.”
Spurlock, 47, also revealed a settlement he paid a female assistant after repeatedly referring to her as “hot pants” and “sex pants.” He believed his comments were “funny at the time, but then realized I had completely demeaned and belittled her to a place of non-existence.”
The Oscar-nominee also confessed to cheating on “every wife and girlfriend I have ever had.” Spurlock is currently married with two children, one from a previous marriage.
Opening up about what may have fuelled such behaviour, Spurlock revealed he had been sexually abused as a child. He also questioned his consumption of alcohol.
Spurlock has been interacting with followers on Twitter and confirmed he is currently seeking help to remedy his behaviour.
