Here’s our latest look at Queen of the Desert, the upcoming big-screen epic (in the Lawrence of Arabia vein) from acclaimed director Werner Herzog.
The film tells the amazing true story of archeologist/secret-service agent Gertrude Bell (played by Nicole Kidman), chronicling Bell’s “journeys of love and loss in the Middle East during the early 20th century”; as she shaped the region during the tumultuous 1920s.
Also starring are Robert Pattinson, James Franco and Damian Lewis; while a release date has yet to be set, check out this extended trailer:
