Those Notley-Iveson-Nenshi Parody T-Shirts Might Be Getting Some Legal Pushback

It looks like those Notley-Iveson-Nenshi Nine Inch Nails style tees might not be a hit with Trent Reznor’s legal team.

In case you missed it, Alberta Premier Rachel Notley and Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi made a splash online displaying shirts that offer up a cute parody of the NIN logo. To the Twittermobile!

It turns out that the novelty tees may be the subject of an “infringement”; claim.

Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson (not pictured in the NIN shirt holding tweet) suggested on CBC Radio that there’s been some legal pushback associated with the shirt.

“We got advice that there were some concerns about the trademark and essentially to cease and desist,”; said Iveson.

The office of Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi told the CBC that they are not aware of any legal ramifications and that all three shirts were one-offs that will not be commercially produced for purchase.
