Vanessa Hudgens shared a photo on Instagram on Saturday, intending to show off her new cropped haircut. However, it turned out that fans were far less interested in her fresh coif than in the ring she was wearing on her finger — on that finger.
In fact, fans of the former “High School Musical” star quickly flooded the post with comments congratulating her on getting engaged to beau Austin Butler, pointing to the ring she was sporting on her left hand.

However, Hudgens took to Twitter on Tuesday to clarify that she wasn’t engaged — she was just wearing a ring.
“Guysssss. I’m not engaged!” wrote Hudgens, 29, wrote to accompany the same photo.

Earlier this year, Hudgens opened up to People about how she and Butler (who stars in “The Shannara Chronicles”, which films in New Zealand) manage a long-distance relationship.
“Just communication. Communication is key,” said Hudgens. “I think that if anything’s bothering you, don’t hold it in. Always bring it up and just talk about it. Uncensor yourself and just be open.”
