‘The Bachelor Canada’ Finale: What’s Next For Chris And His Lucky Lady?

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for W Network’s “The Bachelor Canada: After The Final Rose”.

Chris Leroux’s journey to find love isn’t over after all.

On Wednesday’s “After The Final Rose”, special, the retired MLB player and Winnipeg native Mikaela revealed that they called off their relationship shortly after filming ended on “The Bachelor Canada”.

Now, Leroux reveals exclusively to ET Canada that the couple didn’t speak for four months after their off-camera split, and that they’ve only reconnected recently. As for their new phase as “just friends,” he says, “It’s kind of in its beginning stages right now.”

Mikaela adds, “As disappointed as I am that he entered into a situation where engagement is the end result, I appreciate that he was honest with himself and with me. So for right now, we’re kind of just trying to keep it amicable.”

The pair didn’t seem to bear any bad blood during their TV reunion, so are they ultimately working towards reconciliation?

“You never lose hope with somebody like Mikaela,” Leroux says. “She’s… she’s one in a million, for real.”

Mikaela, on the other hand, isn’t so sure.

“I think that Chris is an amazing person,” she says. “He’s a great guy, he has a lot going for him, but I think that he has so much to figure out on his own.”

Chris seems to agree, noting that he’s not in a rush to pursue a new relationship with anyone else, either.

“I wanna figure myself out fully before I commit to somebody and before I give somebody my heart,” he says.

As for Lyndsey? Despite being a frontrunner from the start, she tells ET Canada she’s not losing sleep over Chris.

“I just don’t think we were meant to be,” she admits. “I think that there [were] too many things that just… It just didn’t fit. There [were] a couple things that were perfect, but there were too many that weren’t.”

After being scrutinized for her age throughout the season, the 23-year-old also revealed to ET Canada that she’s about to do something not uncommon for a 23-year-old: travel.

“I am just so ready for adventure,” she says of her upcoming extended trip to Australia. “That’s what I want right now in my life. You know, I’ve done this, I tried this, it didn’t work, and now it’s just time for something new.”
