Slim Shady has done it again!
Eminem’s long-awaited “Revival” album has debuted at #1 in Billboard‘s Top 200, making it the rapper’s eighth consecutive album to do so in a so-far unbroken winning streak on the Billboard charts.
As Billboard reports, Nielsen Music tabulates that”Revival” launched with 267,000 equivalent album units sold in the week ending Dec. 21, the first week of the album’s release. Of that number, Billboard adds, 197,000 were traditional album sales.
As a result, Eminem has just set a1 new record: the first act ever to achieve eight consecutive chart entries that debuted at #1.
Eminem’s first album since 2013’s “The Marshall Mathers LP2”, “Revival” is the third-biggest hip hop release of 2017, behind only Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” and Drake’s “More Life”.
After landing his eighth #1 album, Eminem is now tied with Kenny Chesney, U2 and Madonna as the artist with the sixth-most #1 albums. The artist with the most #1 albums: The Beatles, with 19, followed by JAY-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand tied at third place (they each have 11), Elvis Presley (10) and Garth Brooks and The Rolling Stones, who each have nine.
