15-year-old songstress Julia Dunn may not be a household name, but she can boast that she performed during the headline slot of a music bash that featured Keith Urban and Rod Stewart as the star attractions.
Dunn shared the spotlight with country megastar Keith Urban on Saturday night at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in Prince Edward Island. The teen earned her place on the stage by winning a Moncton radio contest and showcased her talents like a pro in front of the thousands in attendance.
“I was all nervous, but then I saw him (Urban) and some familiar faces out in the crowd and all of the nerves kind of went away,”; she told The Guardian. “I was just in the moment.”;
Urban and Dunn shared the 2013 smash “We Were Us”; with the Maritimer stepping into the shoes of Miranda Lambert’s side of the track. As you can tell from the video evidence (which we have here courtesy of the CBC), Dunn showed she belonged on that stage.
After she exited the stage, Dunn scored a lovely memento of her performance with Urban. She was given a guitar outfitted with the message “Julia! I loved singin’ with ya!”;
As is customary with Urban, the gracious troubadour sent out a Twitter message thanking the concertgoers that came out to see his Prince Edward Island performance.
We just left PEI! Thank you very much everybody who came out, I hope we get to come back up really soon!!! – KU https://t.co/6Neg7XBAtS
