Maria Menounos really is not wasting a moment getting married.
The television personality announced live on air Sunday night that she would be getting married later in the evening, on New Year’s Eve.
The 39-year-old made the shocking announcement during Fox’s special hosted by Steve Harvey. Menounos married her longtime partner Kevin Undergaro after 20 years together.
Harvey officiated the wedding 20 minutes before the clock struck midnight to ring in the new year.
Menounos even surprised her own parents with the news, revealing the occasion to them on live television.
“Finally some good news for mom! We are getting married tonight in Times Square! I will be the coldest bride ever but the happiest! Seeing my parents happy means everything!” Menounos captioned an Instagram video.
It wasn’t Menounos’ idea to get married live on TV. According to “Today”, it was her producer who said they had wanted to marry a couple during the broadcast but couldn’t find anyone to marry. “She said, ‘Unless you and Keven want to get married,'” Menounos said. “I was nervous but I got in the car and kept thinking about it and I was like, ‘Wait, this really is kind of perfect.'”
Users on Twitter, including Kim Kardashian, congratulated the newlyweds.
