Back in November, Amazon Prime announced that “SNL” alums Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon would team up for a special to provide mock coverage of the 2018 Rose Parade. As it turned out, some viewers who tuned in to watch the livestream coverage didn’t get the memo that the whole thing was a parody, and found themselves baffled — and angered! — by the duo’s hilariously weird coverage of the annual parade.

However, viewers who weren’t in on the gag were not so thrilled, and took to Amazon to blast the parade livestream in a barrage of angry comments that take on their own level of hilarity considering the commenters think they’re watching actual non-spoof coverage.
“I am very dissaponted with the hosts’ commentary,” wrote one commenter, adding, “I would never recommend Cort and Tish as hosts of a live parade.”
Another comment read: “Horrible commentary! I had looked forward to this, but had to turn it off. It was not funny, but disrespectful, crude, and offensive. I turned it off, hugely disappointed. Big fail, Amazon!”
“I couldn’t stomach anymore!” wrote another. “The hosts were awful not giving any facts about the floats or commenting on what we were seeing.”
Other comments include, “I love the Rose Parade and watch it every year but Cord and Tish are absolutely ruining the parade!” and “Cord and Tish are THE worst hosts. Inane chatter, obnoxious comments. Just be quiet, announce the facts, give parade background info and let us ENJOY the parade.”
However, many in the Twitterverse found much amusement in the fact that angry viewers didn’t realize they were watching a parody. Even celebs such as Mandy Moore (“This Is Us”) and former “That ’70s Show” star Topher Grace weighed in:
