Questions surrounding model sizes have sky-rocketed over the past couple of years. As high-fashion models were becoming severely thin, many began to raise questions concerning the fashion industry’s choices. Recently, “plus-sized”; models have taken the limelight as they seek an industry change, which is exactly what upcoming documentary “Straight/Curve”; is gunning to do. Slated for release next year, filmmaker Jenny McQuaile sought out plus-sized model Jessica Lewis, who made no hesitation to participate in the doc.

We sat down with Lewis to hear all about her experience and opinions on the industry.

“They’re redefining the term model,”; Jessica tells us. “I was what’s known as a straight sized model, which is a size 0-4… I took some time off from the industry and came back as a plus-sized model, so I was a size 12-14.”; The young model reveals that the change in body type gave her a “different perspective,”; saying, “people within the health industry are becoming more vocal that you can be healthy at a size 0, and you can be healthy at a size 16.”;

Lewis praises women she was fortunate to work with: “I was just so overwhelmed with the confidence and security that these women had in themselves… they really are not just their image, they’re model citizens, they’re model people.”;
