Winter Is Coming To Finland’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Ice Hotel

“Game of Thrones” fans have a new destination to explore — but time is of the essence, because the whole thing will become a big puddle of water by the spring.

That’s because the new “Game of Thrones” hotel in Finland is built entirely out of ice and snow, and will melt away to nothing by the time summer rolls around.

As Conde Nast Traveler explains, this unique ice hotel is a collaboration between Lapland Hotels Snow Village and HBO Nordic, and took one month to construct, utilizing a team of professional ice sculptors from Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Latvia.

Visitors will discover an ice-carved version of the Braavosi Hall of Faces, an Ice Throne (guarded by the Mountain, of course), and a dragon-shaped ice slide.

For those who don’t mind the cold, there are 24 rooms from which to choose (10 are suites), each with distinctive ice sculptures carved into the ice walls, with an array of options ranging from a blue-eyed White Walker to a direwolf sigil for those allied with the Starks.
