Lindsay Lohan is the hero Gotham deserves, maybe.
The “Mean Girls” actress is campaigning to play Batgirl in the slated DC Universe movie and took to Twitter to spread the word.
Whedon is on the shortlist to direct the superhero flick, but his involvement is not yet confirmed.
Lohan’s pitch has been retweeted over 3,000 times as of this writing. Not all the feedback from retweets has been positive, however. While some users support the actress’ campaign, others have dismissed the idea.
In terms of scheduled DC Universe movie releases, “Aquaman” starring Jason Momoa is slated for this year, and “Shazam” and “Wonder Woman 2” will premiere in 2019.
The major success of superhero films has lured in many A-listers, from Ben Affleck’s Batman to Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
