Michelle Williams was not about to let anyone take the spotlight off “#MeToo” creator Tarana Burke.
Williams was being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest for E! on the Golden Globes red carpet, but the “All the Money in the World” star knew who the real star of the evening was.
The actress pushed the attention away from her and onto her date: Burke. “Really the most exciting thing is, I thought I’d have to raise my daughter how to learn how to protect herself in a dangerous world,” said Williams.
“And I think because of the work Tarana has done,” she continued, “we actually have the opportunity to hand our children a different world.”
But as soon as Burke started speaking to Seacrest, E!‘s broadcast reduced her feed to a small rectangle in the corner of the screen.
It seems staring at Dakota Johnson was a bigger priority for the network, who zoomed in on the actress for 20 seconds while Burke spoke.
The “#MeToo” movement has arguably been the strongest social movement linked to the storm of sexual misconduct allegations that are sweeping the world.
