Being a celebrity comes with a lot of perks, but ensuring an airline doesn’t lose your luggage is not one of them.
Liev Schreiber learned that the hard way when he flew from to Los Angeles on the weekend in order to attend the Golden Globe Awards, only to discover when his flight landed that Delta Airlines had lost his luggage — which included the tuxedo he was planning to wear to the ceremony where he was nominated for his performance in “Ray Donovan”.
“Bag didn’t make it on flight last night but [life] is good,” the actor, 50, wrote in a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post. “Just bought a really expensive bathing suit in the gift shop to go with my winter sweater. Things are looking up. I now am in possession of exactly 4 items of clothing.”

Bag didn’t make it on flight last night but ife is good. Just bought a really expensive bathing suit in the gift shop to go with my winter sweater. Things are looking up. I now am in possession of exactly 4 items of clothing. It’s gonna be fun working the mix and match for #Globes tonight. Fingers crossed @Delta finds the rest of my clothes and I don’t have to do that tired old bow tie and bathing suit thing… #gettingready @showtime #lievschreiber #raydonovan
Schreiber made it to the awards wearing a new tux and mentioned the Delta screwup while chatting on the red carpet during NBC’s pre-show special, adds TMZ. Shaming the airline on national television was apparently an effective strategy, with TMZ reporting that his missing luggage was eventually found.
Meanwhile, Schreiber did not win a Golden Globe on Sunday night; Sterling K. Brown of “This Is Us” wound up winning in the Best Television Performance by an Actor (Drama) category.
