Winston Churchill still has game.
Actor Gary Oldman, whose portrayal of Churchill earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor on Sunday, proposed to his wife Gisele Schmidt while dressed as the former prime minister.

“There was a break in the filming, and we had talked about it and I just felt the urge,” Oldman told Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. “We were down in the war rooms, and I took her into the back room. And as Winston Churchill, I said ‘Will you marry me?'”
Unfortunately, the touching moment was cut short, as Oldman was called back to set immediately after Schmidt said ‘yes.'”

“So you did not get the chance to consummate at Winston Churchill?” Kimmel teased. “It’s funny you should say that,” replied Oldman, “because my wife has often said she went to bed with Winston Churchill but woke up with Gary Oldman.”
Oldman’s performance as Churchill in “Darkest Hour” has been lauded by many critics as one his finest acting efforts.
