Google Preferred does not prefer Logan Paul.
The Google service aggregates the topic content on YouTube into packages for brand advertisers. Paul’s YouTube channel, a hot commodity boasting over 15.5 million subscribers, will no longer be included in Google Preferred.
The Logan Paul hate train has been going full steam ahead since the 22-year-old vlogger posted a video of a dead man hanging from a tree in Japan’s infamous “suicide forest.”
Paul’s video generated millions of views before being taken down. The Internet celebrity was severely criticized for making light of someone’s death, generating tons of negative feedback from social media users and stars like “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner and “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul.
“In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul’s channels from Google Preferred,” a YouTube spokesperson said in an email statement published by Deadline. “Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season four of ‘Foursome’ and his new Originals are on hold.”
Furthermore, YouTube will put his anticipated YouTube red film “The Thinning: New World Order” on ice.
YouTube tweeted an open letter regarding the incident on Tuesday: “Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently. You’re right to be. You deserve to know what’s going on.”
Paul published a pair of statements on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, in the aftermath of the video’s release.
