Marvel is moving forward with their planned “Black Widow” standalone film, with Anne Hathaway-collaborative writer Jac Schaeffer.
Scarlett Johansson will reprise her “Avengers” role as Black Widow. Although the movie has not officially been greenlit, deciding on a writer is the farthest the potential film has ever progressed.
Schaeffer, a relatively new writer among Hollywood’s most trusted, broke out with her script “The Show”, which caught the eye of Hathaway. Afterwards, Hathaway tapped Schaeffer to write “Nasty Women,” a female-focused take on “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”.
Marvel fans have been craving a “Black Widow” spin-off ever since Johansson first portrayed the role in “Iron Man 2”.
