Richard K. Morgan’s classic cyberpunk novel Altered Carbon is getting an audio-visual makeover.

“I want you to solve a murder… mine.” Netflix just released the brand new trailer for their upcoming sci-fi series “Altered Carbon” exclusively to etcanada.com.

The streaming service’s twisted new series depicts “an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future,” according to a statement to ET Canada.
“Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent,” says a synopsis.

“Altered Carbon” is created and executive produced by Laeta Kalogridis and stars Joel Kinnaman (“Suicide Squad”), James Purefoy (“Rome”), Renee Elise Goldsberry (“The Good Wife”), Dichen Lachman (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) and Vancouver native Hayley Law (“Riverdale”).
The new series premieres Feb. 2 on Netflix.
