It was revealed earlier this month that Cindy Crawford would be recreating her iconic 1992 Pepsi ad at this year’s Super Bowl and the full commercial has now been unveiled.
The ad, titled “This Is the Pepsi”, is narrated by Jimmy Fallon, and also features iconic celebrities of Pepsi’s past and present, including Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Jeff Gordon, “Uncle Drew,” and a cameo from the famous DeLorean Time Machine from “Back to the Future”.
Crawford, 51, recently filmed the commercial, which also stars her 18-year-old son, Presley Walker Gerber. The clip will be shortened down from just over a minute to 30 seconds for Sunday’s game.
Crawford tells the Associated Press of starring in the vid alongside her son: “Just as a mother, we drove to work together that day and we shared the same trailer. And when he was doing his thing, I was just a proud mom watching from the sidelines, trying not to annoy him.”
The supermodel says she didn’t hesitate to recreate the ad 26 years after it first aired.
The original ad features Crawford looking as stunning as ever in a tank top and jean shorts while driving a Lamborghini. She then stops at a gas station to buy a can of Pepsi, just like she does in the remake.
The star says of the now-iconic spot: “It was one of those moments in my career that when I walked down the street, people were like, ‘Pepsi!’ Or I’d be at a bar and people would send me over a Pepsi. And it’s funny because during Halloween a lot of women will dress up as me in that commercial. It’s like an easy Halloween costume.”
This year’s Super Bowl will see Pink belt out the national anthem before kickoff. Justin Timberlake will then take the stage for his eagerly anticipated halftime performance.
