Johnny Depp and Bono took the stage at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Monday night in celebration of Shane MacGowan’s 60th birthday.
Joined by a star-studded lineup of musical guests, including Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie and Sinead O’Connor, the pair honoured The Pogues punk band singer with an Irish-inspired duet, where Bono sang and Depp played the electric guitar.

Near the end of their performance, Bono paid tribute to another Irish singer, The Cranberries’ late lead singer Dolores O’Riordan, who passed away suddenly at age 46 in central London on Monday.
Bono emotionally combined the word “Linger”, the title of one of the band’s most famous songs, with his performance of The Pogue’s “A Rainy Night In Soho”, which drew applause from the crowd.

To accept the award, MacGowan took the stage in a wheelchair, where he also performed “Will You Go Lassie Go” and joined Cave in a duet.
