Selena Gomez’s Mom Claims She Asked Her Daughter Not To Work With Woody Allen: ‘No One Controls Her’

While Selena Gomez has received backlash for her decision to work with Woody Allen, it turns out Gomez’s mom isn’t so happy with her choice either.

Gomez co-stars alongside Timothee Chalamet and Elle Fanning in Allen’s latest project, “A Rainy Day In New York”, following a young woman who falls in love with an older man – an Allen staple.

Mandy Teefey, Gomez’s mother, replied to an Instagram comment asking her to “make Selena write an apology about the Woody Allen film,” where she claimed, “No one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to.”

“I had a long talk with [Selena] about not working with him and it didn’t click,” Teefey continued.

“Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here,” she added. “No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”

Allen has been accused of multiple accounts of sexual assault.

Two of Gomez’s co-stars, Chalamet and Rebecca Hall, have donated all of their salaries to the Time’s Up movement.

Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin defended Woody Allen on Twitter this week.
