The band will reunite with co-founder Page for a special one-time appearance at the 47th Juno Awards on March 25 to celebrate their 30th anniversary and induction into the Hall.

“Got a phone call from our manager, was in shock for a day,” Robertson told ET Canada about how he found out about the induction. “Then googled past inductees and was speechless. We are honoured.”

“It sure is nice after 30 years to be recognized and it feels special that we have been noticed,” Tyler added.

Describing how the band will party to celebrate the honour, Tyler said, “We like to eat! Surprise! We like to go for a nice dinner. We have been known to sing some karaoke after drinking some fine wine. We really get down. You barely read about the Barenaked Ladies in the tabloids. ‘He overdosed on appetizers.'”

Robertson also confirmed Page will stand alongside the band to accept the honour. “Steven will be there for one induction, which is great,” he said. “Our families are coming. Yes!”

“I have so many great memories of my years with Barenaked Ladies, from our beginning in our parents’ basements to playing our songs for audiences all over the world,” Page said in a statement.

“I’m incredibly proud of all we achieved together, the greatest of all being the fact that our music continues to be a part of so many Canadians’ lives,” Page continued. “Congratulations to the guys – I’m humbled by our induction into the Hall of Fame. Here’s hoping that next year we will be inducted into Hall and Oates.”
