Move over “Lady Bird”, Paddington Bear is the new king of the jungle.
“Paddington 2” is officially the best-reviewed film of all-time on Rotten Tomatoes after scoring its 165th consecutive positive review.
The animated family flick premiered in early November, two months after Greta Gerwig’s feature film debut. “Lady Bird” held the record with 164 “fresh” reviews before one critic derailed everything with a “rotten” rating.
“Paddington 2” director Paul King told Rotten Tomatoes, “The ‘Paddington’ films are a real labour of love. So many people pour their hearts and souls into them for months or even years, hand-crafting every last frame, and we are all incredibly grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve had so far.”
Adding, “We hope it inspires people to go to the cinema to see for themselves if a talking animal film really can be any good, and whether Hugh Grant really can look devilishly handsome even while dressed as a nun. (Clue: yes.)”
The adorable feature film stars Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington Brown, alongside Hugh Grant, Peter Capaldi, and more.
