After the “Bad And Boujee” rapper apologized on his Instagram Story, saying, “I love all of my fans no matter race [or] sexuality,” Cardi took to Twitter to further defend her man.

“I’m not going to let somebody call him ‘homophobic’ when I know that he’s not, and I’m saying this because I seen him [sic] around these… around gays, and he treats them with the same respect he treats everybody,” she said on a live Periscope broadcast Saturday night. “He never acts uncomfortable and he just don’t care.”

The Grammy nominee, 25, elaborated that she’d “never even heard” of the word or its homophobic implications.

“Why don’t y’all educate people about it?” she asked. “A lot of people are not aware about what’s wrong or right in the LGBT community. Why don’t we do things to educate instead of bashing and trying to label something that they not? Our schools never teach us that these are bad words.”
