Morrissey has written about an incident at the San Francisco International Airport where alleges that the security staff sexually assaulted him.
The singer outlined what happened in a post on True To You. Morrissey says an airport security officer crouched before him and groped his penis and testicles. The 56-year-old artist also indicated that members of the British Airways Special Services urged him to file a complaint. The officer denied that he improperly touched Morrissey and repeatedly dismissed his complaint as “that’s just your opinion.”;
Understandably, the response frustrated Morrissey.
“Apart from “that’s just your opinion”;, he would not comment, even though, since the penis and testicles were mine and no one else’s, then my opinion must surely have some meaning. But, of course, what the airport security officer was saying was: your opinion will never count in the eyes of the law,”; wrote Morrissey in the post. “The words “that’s just your opinion”; volunteered themselves from this “officer’s’ mouth before he had even heard the question. He knew he could be confronted, but he also knew that he could never be challenged (even though the entire incident is most certainly on CCTV camera).”;
The former Smiths frontman notes that he feels his official complaint will either be unread or ignored.
