Food Network star Sunny Anderson is responding to backlash from fans after her inflatable snack stadium trays appeared in a controversial Super Bowl-themed ad for retailer Party City, which mocked gluten allergies.

On Monday, Party City issued an apology for the ad which called people with gluten allergies, “gross.” Through an apology, the company mentioned Anderson was in no way involved in the creation of the ad featuring her product, the Infladium, an inflatable football-stadium serving tray.

“We’d also like to clarify that Sunny Anderson was not involved in the creation of this commercial in any way, and we apologize for any offense it has caused with her audience and fans,” the Party City statement reads.

Despite their apology and the removal of the online ad, the TV star has been the target of personal backlash.

Anderson took to social media claiming the store violated their contract when it came to marketing her products.

“Imagine having a contract. Then it gets breached making you look bad,” she posted to Twitter on Tuesday. “They apologize and make sure people know it wasn’t you. Then no one cares & people are still mad at you.”

She wrote she was busy “putting out fires” and that she’s “handled it” in an Instagram post.

Amid the backlash, Anderson retweeted a post from a fan who pointed out that she suffers from colitis and was sensitive to people with food allergies.
