According to Time, Jolie Pitt and Suu Kyi met with workers on the outskirts of the country’s largest city, Yangon, and toured the factory in which they work.
Earlier in the week, Jolie Pitt travelled to Kachin state, which is now home to more than 10,000 refugees who have been driven from their homes after a cease-fire between the Myanmar government and ethnic rebels broke down in 2011.
“The situation for the displaced inside this country is extremely serious,”; Jolie Pitt said in a statement to PEOPLE. “One man I met expressed his concerns by saying he was afraid that in years to come his community would be found only in history books — and that the lack of medicine and healthcare is a top priority.”;
