When 22-year-old Joey McClennan purchased tickets to see Foo Fighters perform in Brisbane, Australia, he had no idea he’d be playing guitar alongside the band on their hit “Monkey Wrench”.
As the Brisbane Times reports, the band was playing Friday night at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium when frontman Dave Grohl spotted McClennan in the crowd, holding a hand-made sign stating, “Can I Play ‘Monkey Wrench’ with you.”
Inviting McClennan onstage, Grohl asks, “Are you sure you can play it? The last thing you want to do is come up here and s**t the bed in front of 40,000 people in your home town.”
After assuring Grohl that he can play the song, the star hands McClennan his guitar, resulting in a seriously crowd-pleasing performance.

This isn’t the first time Grohl has invited a fan onstage to jam with the band; back in October, the former Nirvana drummer invited college student Pierce Edge to sit in on drums for a performance of “Under Pressure”. Watch:
