The chilling new trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming movie “Unsane”, starring Claire Foy, has been unveiled ahead of its March release date.
Soderbergh’s latest flick, which was shot entirely on an iPhone, tells the tale of a young woman, played by Foy, who is stalked before being involuntarily committed to a mental institution.
However, as the clip follows her trying, and failing, to be released by insisting to the police that she’s “not insane,” the trailer eventually leads to the audience asking the question – is what she’s experiencing real, or just a product of her delusion?
The film also stars Joshua Leonard, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins, Amy Irving and Jay Pharaoh, with the latter telling Entertainment Weekly last year: “The movie reminds me of some reality-type horror — almost ‘Get Out’-ish, but different, which feels good.”
“I think this is the future,” Soderbergh added of his different approach to horror. “Anybody going to see this movie who has no idea of the backstory to the production will have no idea this was shot on the phone. That’s not part of the conceit.”
“Unsane” hits theatres on March 23.
